Grants for Home Improvements

Could You Get Grants for Home Improvements?

Nowadays, there are plenty of different government grants in the UK for different home improvement repair grants:

  • The Green Deal Scheme
  • Energy Company Obligation (ECO3)
  • Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
  • The Winter Fuel Payment
  • The Warm Home Discount
  • Cold Weather Payment

If you aren’t on these benefits, you could still meet the eligibility requirements for a home improvement loan (personal loan from the government for those with a median income) rather than home grants, which are often lower than the full expense.ย

Not all grants available are government funded repair grants, but all can help improve your home if you are eligible for the home improvement program.

The Different Grants for Home Improvements

Letโ€™s look at some of the home improvements grants listed above.

The Green Deal Scheme

This particular government financial aid helps you make improvements to your home and home repairs that are energy-saving to improve or modernize your home, no matter the types of home. They will discuss what methods could help you save the most energy and the best way to pay for them. Examples include:

  • Renewable energy sources (solar panels or heat pumps)
  • Energy-saving heating
  • Double glazing
  • Draught-proofing
  • Solid wall insulation
  • Cavity wall insulation
  • Loft insulation

We can help you with this home improvements grant with installations, whether it is energy-saving heating or the different types of insulations to improve or modernize your home. Anyone can discuss what they want within the green deal scheme and potentially receive a home improvement loan for home repairs.

Is ECO One of the Grants for Home improvements?

The simple answer is yes!

Though this does depend on whether you qualify for it, you can get a home repair program assessment first to see whether you meet the eligibility requirements for government home improvement financial aid.

ECO stands for Energy Company Obligation. You can read more about Government Grants For House Repairs UK here.

ECO is in phase three of their plans which is to provide energy efficient home improvement grants for low-income homeowners or in rental housing, and other vulnerable households with the types of home that have too much carbon emissions and are in need of financial assistance.

ECO3 government grant

Could I Qualify for the ECO3 Grant for Home Improvement?

You might qualify for government grants if you are on certain benefits, and you are low-income homeowner, a landlord or private tenant. See the qualifying benefits listed on the side.

We, at UK Energy Support, want to meet the ECO3 scheme targets by helping with the long list of home improvements UK households could make to improve or modernize them. We want to concentrate on wall insulation or loft insulation, as well as helping replace inefficient heating systems.
